We wanted to take a moment to pray for the people around the world during this difficult time, especially those who are on the battlefront during this pandemic, the people suffering from this horrible disease, those who have lost loved ones, and those who are most vulnerable to this deadly virus. We ask you to join us in praying Psalm 91 together for the world.
Our Most Gracious Heavenly Father,
You alone are the great Jehovah Rapha, The Lord That Heals, The Great Physician. We thank You for all that You have provided for us and continue to provide for us during this global pandemic. Thank You for the ability for students to continue their education even when schools and universities are closed. Thank You for people being able to work from home. These things may not have been possible in this way just a decade or more ago. Thank You for that. And thank You for all the generosity and kindness that has emerged in this crisis. These glimpses of good in a dark world during a dark time are such a reminder of Your love for us and how we can share that love with the world.
We come to you today to pray for our world during this pandemic. We ask You to to hide those working in the battlefronts on this pandemic and those who are most at risk from this virus in the Secret Place of the Most High under the shadow of Your wings. Please reach down with healing for those suffering from this disease and and with the comfort that only You can provide for those who have lost loved ones.
You, oh Lord, are our Fortress and our Refuge. Surely You will deliver us from the snare of the fowler and the noisome pestilence. Your Truth shall be our buckler and our shield. We shall not be afraid of the terror by night or the arrow that flies during the day. Through You, we shall not stand afraid of the pestilence that walks in darkness or the destruction that wasteth at noonday. We know that only You can provide the end to this disease so that thousands do not fall to our left or to our right and so that we do not fall, as well.
We know, oh Lord, that if we make You our refuge and if we live in You, that You can keep us from harm. You alone can keep evil from befalling us or plagues from entering our dwellings, and we implore that you might protect those in need, oh Lord. Give Your angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways so that they may bear us up in their arms above this deadly disease. Help us, Lord, to face this virus that we confront so that we might trample it underfoot. Set us on high, oh Lord. Call upon us and we will answer You. Therefore deliver us from this deadly battle so that we may honor You and show our salvation.
You have said in Your Word that if Your people, who are called by Your name, will humble themselves and pray and seek Your face and turn away from their wickedness that You will hear from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their lands. We come to you today on our knees, asking for that forgiveness, asking for You to shine the glory of Your face upon us, asking You to heal our land.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayers. Thank You for loving us and for sending Your Son to forgive us of our sins. These things we ask in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ.
